Partnership with OKK CELIK ZENICA, Bosnia and Herzegovina signed a couple of days ago
Basicball Academy would like to announce the partnership with OKK CELIK ZENICA, Bosnia and Herzegovina signed a couple of days ago! OKK CELIK ZENICA Official beginings of basketball in Zenica started back in 1954 with the first basketball club. During the history, Celik had various results but Celik is most known by its youth development program that had more then 15 000 players over the years. Celik launched amazing players and coaches to the world of basketball. Some of them are : Basicball owner Zoran Savic, Basicball operations manager Dzevad Alihodzic, Matan Rimac, Emir Mutapcic, Teoman Alibegovic… At the end of the 90’s club changes its name to KK ZENICA CELIK. New generation of players was led by Ivan Opacak, current sports director, Hasan Rizvic, Emir Preldzic, Ognjen Kuzimic… Above mentioned players had great careers in Europe and NBA. 2008. Club changes its name again with addition of “youth” to its prefix as the strategy goes back to its roots, commenting entirely to development of the youth. Club made a promise to the local community that it will give all the energy into developing youth and making the name only and only from the youth groups. Newly build arena is used for basketball purposes only and it serves as a working ground for hundreds of young talented athletes chasing their dreams of becoming great basketball players. Mutual understanding, similar ideas and one goal was leading to the partnership we just developed. Exchange of players, mutual events, camps and overall cooperation was agreed and the first to experience is Basicball player Max Klein. Max and Mr. Alihodzic are currently in Zenica. We wanted to show Max the experience in working with organized club in second division, show him the environment and get familiar with the system that we will all benefit from in the future.
This is just the first in many more to come. We are working on many projects. GM Dejan Kamenjasevic and Basicball Player Aaron Ferns are going to Zenica in January. Stay tuned for latest updates.
