Spanish point guard Rubio, 24, played for FC Barcelona after being drafted fifth overall in 2009 by the Minnesota Timberwolves before coming to the NBA in 2011. In his four seasons with Minnesota, the playmaker has averaged 10.2 points, 8.2 assists, 4.3 rebounds and 2.3 steals. The Timberwolves player since 2011 and  an Olympic silver medalist with Spain at the 2008 Games in Beijing, Rubio was on hand providing pointers and experiences with budding ballers of all ages and abilities during the six-day training academy held at Dubai Sports World between August 22-28. 

This was a once in a lifetime opportunity for all the participants getting up close and personal working on everything from basic dribbling and passing to personal shooting training.
